Thorough preparation is the foundation for a good result. A nice look and a high abrasion resistance does not come by itself. Surfaces has to be properly pre-treated. This includes e.g. that door frames and panels are sanded, and that all surfaces are thoroughly washed off before painting. Last but not least, of course, it is important that screw holes and scratches are filled. Only then, the painter can begin the actual painting work.
At Malerfirmaet Lykkebo, we are not tempted by quick solutions. We always set aside the necessary time, which means that our painters have the opportunity to deliver the best result. It means a lot to us that we can complete our tasks on time. This also implies that we do not deliver half-finished work, which we will have to do again later. This philosophy should leave you both satisfied with the result and our service.
To take the best possible care of our painters, and at the same time ensure you a good indoor climate, we prefer to use eco-labeled paint from Dyrup. The vast majority of our paints are marked with the EU flower. The paint we use is called Dyrup Robust and is a 100% acrylic based paint. The advantage of this paint is its really good cleaning properties. This means that you can easily wipe your wall with a damp cloth – even if the wall is semi-matte. One would think that this is normal for all types of professional paints. However, with most types of paint you will get a stain when you wipe a matte wall surface off.
For painting interior woodwork, we use a polyurethane-reinforced paint. When the paint is dry, the surface becomes rock hard, which gives an unsurpassed abrasion resistance. This means that you e.g. can wash your panels with a sponge if they get dirty. A hard surface means that your woodwork is better protected against wear, marks and scratches, which can occur if you e.g. hit the frames with a vacuum cleaner.

This includes sanding door frames and panels, as well as thoroughly cleaning all surfaces before painting begins. Last but not least, it’s essential to fill screw holes, scratches, and dents. Only then can the painter begin masking and move on to the actual painting work.
Extra bills from craftsmen are unfortunately not an unknown phenomenon. The intentions of the craftsmen are far from always that you as a customer should be cheated. Often the craftsmen are simply not skilled enough to include everything in their offers. Therefore, even small surprises, or sub-elements that are necessary to perform a given piece of work, are not included in the original offer. This is often a great annoyance to both parties, you as a customer have to have more money out of pocket, and the craftsman might end up with a dissatisfied customer.
At Lykkebo, it is therefore absolutely essential for us to send a specified written offer to all our customers. Here, it will be stated what kind of work is to be carried out and which products are used, as well as how many times the surfaces are to be treated. If you have changes to the offer, we will always send you a revised written offer. This way, we avoid sudden extra bills as you always know what your final price is.
